The formation of the governing peace council in Gaza was announced amid widespread regional and international concerns

Cairo – Amr AbdulRahman – [AISC News]

Amid deep and widespread controversy among international and regional experts and observers, the formation of the members of the governing peace council in Arab Gaza was finally announced, according to statements and declarations issued by US President Donald Trump, who undertook the process of selecting the members, along with the US sovereign agencies.

The “Council” is headed by the US President, who described it as “the greatest international council ever formed!” according to a tweet on the social networking site [TRUTH Social], of which Trump owns a majority stake.

For its part, a report by the prestigious American newspaper “The New York Times” revealed that it had reviewed a draft of the charter corresponding to the governing peace council in Gaza, issued in the wake of the Sharm el-Sheikh resolutions and the Abraham Accords, and through its texts, It has become clear that the Council’s role goes beyond its vague mission in Gaza, as evidenced by the fact that “Gaza” is not mentioned at all in the Charter, which means that it was formed as a possible alternative to the UN Security Council, but under purely American leadership.

It also stipulates that membership is conditional upon a financial contribution of one billion dollars.

Furthermore, it stipulates that the Council will oversee the “appointment” of a government to administer Gaza, with the support of the Council’s High Representative, to govern Gaza—the same arrangements made after the full-scale invasion of Iraq.

Questions have arisen about the identity of the new international council, given the exclusion of Eastern European countries such as Russia and China, which creates an atmosphere of international bias.

Other questions arose, regarding whether the announcement was related to President Trump’s message – which preceded the Egyptian presidency by one day – concerning the Renaissance Dam, and his emphasis on the importance of the Nile as a national security matter for Egypt, and whether the American statement was a kind of threat regarding the dam.

Looking at the names of the members, we find that the council tasked with governing Gaza includes a minority of Arabs from Egypt, the UAE and Qatar, while the majority are either Israeli Jews, American figures with Jewish or Israeli identities, or American military personnel..:

According to international news agencies, some of the selected members are as follows:

  • Tony Blair – second only to former US President George W. Bush in responsibility for war crimes against Iraq during his tenure as former British Prime Minister.
  •
  • Jared Kushner – Trump’s Jewish son-in-law and the architect of the Abraham Accords.
  • Yakir Gabai – Israeli billionaire.
  •
  • Steve Witkoff – American real estate billionaire.
  •
  • Mark Rowan – American billionaire and one of Israel’s biggest global supporters.
  • Rabbi Aryeh Lightstone.
  •
  • Josh Grunebaum.
  •
  • Jasper Jefferson, the American commander of the military force governing Gaza, and one of the leaders of the American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
